I hope that you will join me at the Holy Cross Festival on Lake Ave., down in Charlotte, on Friday and Saturday night.
Do you remember the good old days, when most parishes held a festival?
I was just reading the history of one parish on the Internet. It was noted that the parish festival has been replaced by a parish picnic.
I thought to myself, those young children don't know what they are missing at a good old fashioned parish festival. At night, the lights and sounds and the smell of the wonderful food can last a lifetime.
And in some parishes a picnic has been replaced by nothing.
